Keerthy Suresh bunked exams to meet SRK; Priyadarshan convinced dad to let her do films

Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte are promoting their Netflix web series, Akka. Keerthy recalled an incident from her early career involving a meeting with Shah Rukh Khan. She had bunked her Class 11 exams to meet the Bollywood star on the sets of Billu in 2009, where her sister was working. Keerthy's father, G Suresh Kumar, a Malayalam producer, initially wanted her to complete her graduation before pursuing acting.

However, Priyadarshan, the filmmaker, convinced her father to let her break into the film industry. Keerthy revealed that she met Shah Rukh Khan during a visit to the Billu sets and still has a picture with him, though she doesn't like the appearance in the photo. Her journey in films started with a Priyadarshan movie featuring Mohanlal, and she considered it her best introduction to the industry.
