Kee Ming lands RM44.2mil data centre job

KUALA LUMPUR: The Kee Ming Group Bhd subsidiary, Kee Ming Electrical Sdn Bhd, has secured a contract for RM44.17 million in electrical work for a hyperscale data centre in Puncak Alam. The contract was awarded to a third-party contractor specializing in integrated mechanical and electrical solutions. Kee Ming Electrical will handle the supply, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning of the general electrical works.

The main building's electrical works will commence upon receiving a notice to proceed from the contractor. Specialists anticipate the subcontract to be finished by July 30, 2027. Kee Ming Electrical's managing director, Liew Kar Hoe, stated that the company's experience in delivering integrated electrical engineering solutions makes it well-suited for this project.

He added that the latest project bolsters the group's data centre project portfolio and supports its strategy of targeting higher-value engineering opportunities. The company remains focused on efficiently completing existing projects while actively seeking new opportunities in data centres, high-voltage and interconnection facilities, as well as industrial and commercial developments.

As of June 30, Kee Ming's outstanding order book amounted to RM206.40 million. Since its ACE Market listing on Bursa Malaysia on February 12, the company has announced six project wins worth RM182.23 million.
