Former West Indies Coach Set to Join Pakistan Women’s Team

Former West Indies women's cricket head coach Shane Deitz is poised to lead Pakistan's women's team after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) plans to replace the current foreign coach. The 51-year-old Australian, who finished his three-year contract with the West Indies at the end of October, will take over ahead of Pakistan's upcoming tour of the West Indies in mid-December.

Deitz, who has previously worked as the head coach of the men's team, was chosen based on his coaching expertise and experience. Meanwhile, Wahab Riaz, a former Pakistani fast bowler and consultant, continues to mentor the women's team, focusing on player development, fitness, and tactical preparation. Riaz's role includes high-performance training camps and improving areas such as game awareness, tactical execution, and handling pressure.

These changes come as Pakistan aims to strengthen its women's cricket program, building on the team's performance at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in June 2026.
