Enko Capital, an Africa-focused investment firm, has appointed Stuart Kameen as head of marketing and business development. The London-based executive assumes the role in October, with a primary focus on establishing institutional partnerships for the company. Kameen previously served as head of marketing and investor relations at Carbon Cap Management from 2022 to 2023.

Prior to that, he spent nearly nine years at Brevan Howard in investor relations, followed by alternative investments sales and marketing manager positions at CME Group and head of client services for EMEA at Caxton Associates. Kameen's career began at Dresdner Kleinwort, and he later joined Man Group's marketing and client services graduate program.

Enko Capital, established in 2008, manages a $1.8 billion portfolio across emerging market debt, private credit, and private equity strategies. The firm's flagship strategy, directed by Alain Nkontchou, employs a macro and relative value absolute return approach in sovereign and corporate debt investments across Africa, excluding South Africa.

The fund was awarded Best Overall Credit Hedge Fund (over $500m) at the Hedgeweek® Awards in 2023. In addition to Kameen, Enko has also hired Sabrina Chiang as associate director of marketing. Chiang will be responsible for business development and capital raising, having previously served as senior business development lead at macro quant manager Oxford Algorithms.
