Eos X Space capta otros 110 millones para crecer en EEUU

The Spanish space tourism and defense company Eos X Space has raised an additional $110 million to expand its operations in the United States. According to EXPANSIÓN sources, the company secured the funding from Global Emerging Markets (GEM), an alternative investment firm with offices in New York, Bahamas, and Paris. This new round of financing follows a series D investment round earlier this year, in which Eos X Space raised $140 million.

With these two operations, the company has raised a total of $260 million so far this year. Eos X Space plans to list its shares on both Wall Street and in London next year, with an expected debut on the New York Stock Exchange between Q2 and Q3 of 2024 and in London during Q2 of 2027. The company values itself at $1.2 billion before its integration in both Europe and the United States, with an initial valuation of $4.5 billion as a starting point based on projected revenues and financial metrics of its business plan.

GEM appointed Bank of America Merrill Lynch as the lead bank to support Eos X Space's financial development and market access strategy. The company, founded by Spanish entrepreneur Kemel Kharbachi, plans to commence commercial activities before the end of the year and anticipates initial revenues of around $675 million annually.

Eos X Space's luxury space tourism model involves lifting cabins with helium up to 40 kilometers, offering customers a view of 99.5% of the planet and Earth's curvature. Each capsule accommodates between 8 and 9 passengers, including the pilot, with a ticket price of approximately $200,000 per trip. The company operates through a distributed structure in Abu Dhabi (headquarters), the United States (industrial capacity), and Spain, where it concentrates logistics functions.

Eos X Space plans to add a new maritime launch site from Málaga, which includes rehabilitating a ship for this purpose. Apart from space tourism, the company is also developing a civil and military aerospace business line centered around satellite constellations for various uses such as observation, communications, and data analysis, targeting both private and institutional clients.
