Democrats are projected to regain control of the US House of Representatives in the Nov. 3 midterm elections, positioning Hakeem Jeffries to become the first Black speaker in American history. The party also scored significant Senate victories in South Carolina and North Carolina and made further gains as voters delivered an electoral setback to President Donald Trump’s Republicans.
