Cardinals' Gardner Minshew just might be from the land of magnificent

This weekend, the Arizona Cardinals showcased the talents of their reserve quarterback, Gardner Minshew II, during a 33-30 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Minshew's impressive performance has earned him a starting role under head coach Matt LaFleur, who is striving to save the team's season in the highly competitive NFC West. On Sunday, Minshew completed 17 of his 23 passes, avoided sacks and turnovers, and threw three touchdowns, setting him apart from starter Jacoby Brissett.

Minshew's ability to commit to his reads quickly, deliver the ball swiftly, and maintain poise in the pocket contributed to his success. His performance was crucial in the Cardinals' improbable miracle, and Carson Beck, another reserve quarterback, will benefit from observing and practicing with Minshew before potentially taking over the starting position.

LaFleur's trust in Brissett has diminished quickly, even after multiple opportunities for the young quarterback to prove himself. Minshew's efficiency surpasses that of Brissett throughout his NFL career, and LaFleur's initial confidence in Brissett has waned. This magnificent victory in Dallas marks just the beginning for the Cardinals, who have a chance to become competitive throughout the season if they continue their balanced offensive approach.

Especially given the recent struggles of the Seattle Seahawks, Minshew's performance may be the spark the Cardinals need. For more Cardinals and NFL coverage, turn to Cards Wire and listen to the latest on the Rise Up, See Red podcast. Subscribe on Spotify, YouTube, or Apple Podcasts.
