Aston Villa hint Emery is committed beyond 2029
Aston Villa signalled their intention on Wednesday for manager Unai Emery to lead the club beyond the expiry of his current contract in 2029."The discussions focused on jointly planning the club's long-term strategic direction, with positive discussions establishing a clear commitment beyond 2029 for the joint development of the club under the sporting leadership of Unai Emery."
Aston Villa have indicated their commitment to manager Unai Emery for a further period beyond his current contract's expiration in 2029, according to reports. The Spanish coach has steered the Midlands-based club to two Champions League appearances and a Europa League triumph since his arrival four years ago. Despite his success, Emery's name has been associated with other high-profile Premier League clubs, including Manchester United.
Aston Villa made headlines earlier this week by threatening legal action against former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher for suggesting Emery should consider a move to United if current midfielder Michael Carrick were to leave. In a recent statement, the club outlined their plans to meet and discuss the future of the team, emphasizing their joint commitment to long-term growth and ambition under Emery's leadership.
The aim is to create a competitive and capable Aston Villa capable of tackling the most significant challenges in the sport.
