Apple Music's upcoming feature will let you record yourself doing karaoke

Apple Music is set to roll out a novel feature that enables users to record their own karaoke performances directly within the app. This functionality, dubbed "Selfie Sing," is essentially an enhanced iteration of the "Sing" feature introduced in 2022. According to MacRumors, "Selfie Sing" will debut alongside iOS 27.3, currently available in beta form.

With "Selfie Sing," users will be able to record videos of themselves singing along to their favorite tunes, with the corresponding lyrics scrolling up on the screen in real-time. The feature comes with its own curated playlist, designed to feature songs that patrons are likely to know well and enjoy singing to.

The company's description of the feature highlights some of the songs included in the playlist, such as "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson, "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction, "Like a Virgin" by Madonna, "Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears, and "9 to 5" by Dolly Parton. To record a performance, users simply need to select a song and enable the camera.

Additional options are available for users to enhance their recording, including the ability to modify the voice's volume or apply various effects such as Megaphone, Echo, Concert Hall, and Studio.

Once a recording is complete, users can save or share it with their friends. Apple has recently released the iOS 27.3 beta for download, which will also introduce additional Siri AI features and a redesigned Health app. The new mobile operating system is expected to be widely available by December.
