ADNOC to expand AI use across its operations to strengthen resilience

Abu Dhabi's flagship energy conference, ADIPEC, has brought together top energy industry leaders to discuss the importance of AI in strengthening the sector's resilience. Dr Sultan Al Jaber, UAE minister of industry and advanced technology and CEO of ADNOC, emphasized the significance of AI in ensuring operational continuity during times of crisis.

ADNOC has signed a deal with OpenAI and G42 to become the first energy company to deploy OpenAI's Frontier platform for oilfield development, well management, and commercial operations. BP CEO Meg O'Neill highlighted the importance of AI in sub-surface analysis and facility operations, while discussing the challenges of predicting global energy demand.

The report, published by ADNOC, Microsoft, and XRG, found that 89% of energy leaders have increased their AI spending in the past year, and 63% expect returns to match or exceed costs.
