Wear OS 8 is getting a system status bar, and here’s our first look at it
Here's what to expect when the Wear OS status bar eventually launches.
Google has announced that a system status bar will be introduced in Wear OS 8. This feature will display the time and system icons at the top of smartwatch applications. The announcement was made in an Android Developers blog, as reported by Mishaal Rahman. The status bar will be launched in Wear OS 8, following a previous preview where developers could test it using a Wear OS 7.1 emulator.
However, Google clarified that the feature would not be included in the Wear OS 7.1 update but would debut in a subsequent Wear OS release. This update now provides a clearer timeline for when users can expect to see the system status bar on their smartwatches.
