Ukraine-Krieg: USA: Nächste Woche Verhandlungen mit Ukraine und Russland

The United States has announced that trilateral talks involving representatives from Kiev, Moscow, and Washington will take place next week in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff revealed this on platform X, stating that the discussions will revolve around post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian aid, and the path to peace.

Additionally, Witkoff claimed that US diplomats would meet this week with representatives from Germany, France, the United Kingdom, NATO, and the EU in Brussels. The talks in Brussels will focus on security guarantees for Ukraine, Europe's security order post-war, and reconstruction efforts. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed readiness for meetings with his security chiefs after discussing a potential end to the war with Witkoff.

"We have agreed to be ready to resume our trilateral contacts," Putin stated, referring to previous discussions. Talks involving the United States, Russia, and Ukraine last took place in Geneva in February, followed by two meetings in Abu Dhabi. Recent Kremlin hints suggested that delegations from the three countries might meet in Abu Dhabi in mid-November.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov criticized the Europeans' stance, accusing them of trying to meddle in the Ukrainian peace negotiations. "They are trying to interfere in the peace negotiations process in Ukraine," Lavrov said a few days ago. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope last week that the talks with Russia and the United States would also involve the EU.

"We hope to find a way to involve Europe," Zelensky said in The Hague. Ukraine has been fighting against the aggressor Russia with Western support for over four and a half years.
