'Top, top player!' - Rio Ferdinand admits he desperately wanted Arsenal star at Man Utd to solve glaring issues
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has expressed his deep frustration after watching Ezri Konsa shine for Arsenal following his summer move from Aston Villa. The former England captain believes his old club missed a massive opportunity to fix their leaky defence by allowing the versatile centre-back to head to north London instead.
Rio Ferdinand, former England captain and Manchester United legend, has expressed his disappointment after witnessing the impressive performance of Ezri Konsa for Arsenal. Ferdinand felt that Arsenal's former club, Aston Villa, missed an opportunity to strengthen their defense by allowing Konsa to join the Gunners for £55 million in the summer.
Konsa has quickly become a key player for Arteta's side, seamlessly filling in at center-back alongside Gabriel and contributing to Arsenal's strong defensive record. Despite Saliba's injury, Arsenal continues to dominate at the back. Ferdinand, speaking on his YouTube channel, praised Konsa's efficiency and highlighted the regret that Manchester United failed to sign him, given their defensive struggles.
Ferdinand urged his son to watch Konsa's games and even suggested that Konsa might revert to right-back once Saliba returns, due to his exceptional abilities.
