Teacher arrested over schoolboy's sexual assault

A 24-year-old teacher has been arrested for sexually assaulting a male student multiple times in a school storeroom, according to the New Straits Times. The case came to light after the victim's father reported what had happened to the police on October 27. The teacher is currently being held in custody and is set to be remanded until the following day.

The incident is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and caning. The victim had previously mentioned to his father that the teacher would frequently can him for failing to complete his homework, before taking him to a storeroom and forcing him to perform indecent acts and sexually assault him.
