Redmagic 12 Pro review: You’ve never gamed on a phone like this before

The Redmagic 12 Pro is a gaming phone that has taken the market by storm with its impressive features. It boasts a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, liquid cooling, a fan, and a massive 8,400mAh battery that keeps gaming sessions going for hours. The phone's design is unique, with a completely flat build that fits perfectly in any controller.

Despite its flat build, the Redmagic 12 Pro is rated IP68 and IP69, making it resistant to water and dust. The phone's cooling system comprises a fan and liquid cooling, which helps maintain performance during prolonged use. The intake and exhaust vents are located on the sides of the phone, ensuring they are not easily blocked.

The phone's build quality is impressive, with loud, clear speakers and an excellent 185Hz AMOLED display that supports DC dimming and 2160Hz PWM for eye comfort. The display can reach an impressive 2300-nits of HDR brightness. While the camera on the Redmagic 12 Pro may not impress, it does feature a 50MP rear camera and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, both of which can capture decent images.

The phone's software is also noteworthy, with a built-in game launcher, Steam emulator, and an AI-powered on-screen character that offers gameplay feedback. Despite its high performance, the phone's camera system is its weakest link.
