Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, posed a question on Tuesday regarding Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, for the upcoming January 16, 2027 election. Olayinka questioned whether Atiku, referred to as "Wole Wole Kachalla," is still pursuing the presidency.
In a post on X, Olayinka also inquired why the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, had not lied to Nigerians during the past two days. He stated, "Abeg, is Kachalla Wole Wole Atiku Abubakar still contesting this January 16, 2027 presidential election? E reach make person ask." Olayinka's comments come amid attacks from Atiku's aides against President Bola Tinubu for his spiritual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, where he was allowed to enter the Holy Kaaba for Umrah.
While some Nigerians hailed this as a historic moment, Atiku's spokesman Phrank Shaibu claimed that Tinubu's financial support enabled his first-ever trip to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.
