Obi and I remain friends despite political differences — Soludo

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has stated that he maintains a cordial relationship with former governor Peter Obi despite their political disagreements. In an interview, Soludo highlighted that while their families have strong ties, their political interests differ. He emphasized that each of them should have their own political choices, stating, "Peter Obi and I are good friends...

But when it comes to politics, give me mine, give him his." Soludo further explained that both men supported different candidates during the Anambra governorship election, with Obi backing one candidate and Soludo winning by God's grace. The recent disagreements between the two stemmed from claims that Obi and his wife were godparents to Soludo's children, a claim disputed by the Anambra First Lady's media aide.

Soludo also clarified his earlier comments about Obi's chances in the 2023 presidential election, clarifying that he did not predict Obi's loss but argued that his participation would benefit the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Tinubu, by splitting opposition votes.
