MP Pratibha Parv 2026 To Begin December 1, Model Question Bank For Classes 3 To 8 To Test Conceptual Understanding

The school education department of Madhya Pradesh is set to launch a groundbreaking initiative for the upcoming academic session. Starting from December 1, 2026, the department will prepare a model question bank for students in Classes 3 to 8 studying in government schools. This new approach aims to shift away from traditional textbook-based learning and evaluate students’ conceptual understanding, analytical skills, and practical application of knowledge.

The model question bank will serve a dual purpose - assisting teachers in preparing students for the revised assessment pattern and providing a valuable resource for students themselves. The annual Pratibha Parv assessment, which has been a long-standing tradition, will commence on the first day of the academic year. To ensure smooth implementation, the State Education Centre has forwarded comprehensive guidelines to all district collectors regarding the assessment procedure for the 2026-27 academic session.

The examination schedule for students in Classes 3 to 5 has been set from December 1 to 7, while those in Classes 6 to 8 will undergo the assessment from December 1 to 8. The District Institute of Education and Training will be responsible for creating district-wise question papers based on the prescribed syllabus and textbooks.

The question papers will feature five types of questions for each subject, adhering to a learning outcome-based assessment pattern. This pattern allocates 20% weightage to knowledge-based questions, 50% to understanding, 20% to application, and 10% to higher-order thinking skills. Additionally, questions will be categorized according to difficulty levels, with 20% of them classified as easy, 50% as moderate, and 30% as difficult.

Upon completion of the assessment, schools will organize a Bal Sabha event as part of their annual functions. This celebration will encompass a range of literary, cultural, and sports activities, meticulously coordinated by a dedicated children's cabinet.
