Lahore Cracks Down on One-Wheeling Biker Gangs

Lahore's traffic police have intensified efforts to combat a rising issue of gangs riding one-wheelers, which have been causing terror on the roads. During a recent operation at Airport Circle, two individuals were apprehended, and legal proceedings were initiated against them. Police sources reveal that these one-wheelers typically operate late at night in groups, quickly dispersing upon the sight of law enforcement.

A focused blockade and surveillance operation were conducted at Defence Mor, resulting in the arrest of two more suspects named Hamza and Gulzaib. These individuals are now facing legal action at the South Cantt police station. The Lahore traffic police have bolstered their force by deploying dedicated teams at strategic locations such as CBD Boulevard, Defence Boulevard, Defence Phase 6, and Canal Road.

CTO Lahore, Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi, has made it clear that there will be zero tolerance for one-wheeling, speeding, and overspeeding. Over the past six months, 124 one-wheelers have been targeted with charges. He emphasizes that any form of hooliganism and the act of instilling fear on the roads will be sternly discouraged. The paramount concern is the safety and well-being of citizens, which remains the top priority for the authorities.
