Google has introduced its first discount since launching the Home Speaker on June 27. The device, which initially retailed at $99.99, is now available for $79.99 after a $20 discount from the Google Store. This sale began today and will conclude on December 2, just two days before Cyber Monday. Retailers such as Best Buy and others are also offering the deal.
The Google Home Speaker comes in Berry, Hazel, Jade, and Porcelain colors, and features 360-degree audio, also referred to as "Omni-directional sound with 58 mm full-range driver." It can be connected to Google TV Streamer and is equipped with three far-field microphones and a privacy mute switch at its base. The device also includes a ring of status lights and capacitive touch controls for volume and play/pause.
Matter support enables the speaker to function as a smart home hub. A 59.1-inch USB-C cable with a 30W charger is included in the package. Positioned at around 3.4 inches in height, the Google Home Speaker is roughly the size of two stacked Nest Minis. The "Gemini for Home" feature grants access to familiar voice commands, though real-time Gemini Live sessions require a Google Home Premium Standard subscription, priced at $10/month or $100/year.
A 30-day free trial is provided with each speaker. For further updates, viewers are encouraged to check out 9to5Google on YouTube.
