The National Sports Commission announced that the Super Falcons have begun receiving their promised $100,000 reward, equivalent to about ₦140 million for each player, for their victory in the 2024 WAFCON. This comes after President Bola Tinubu honored the players with 3-bedroom flats in Abuja and the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) National Honours.
The Super Falcons stunned hosts Morocco by securing a 3-2 win in the final, which took place in July 2025. The team's captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for fulfilling his promise, describing the gesture as a vital recognition of the team's achievement and contribution to Nigerian sports. This reward follows similar payments by the President to the country's senior women's basketball team, the D’Tigress, and the Super Eagles, after their respective sporting triumphs.
