Two policemen were tragically killed and another was wounded when assailants opened fire on them as they were en route to provide security for a polio vaccination team in Mohmand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday, according to police. The attack occurred near the Hashim Kor police checkpost in the Dag Tamanzai area of Pindiali tehsil, with the martyred officers identified as Constables Zahoor Khan and Arbai Khan, and the injured named Sepoy Sabir Khan.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed grave concern over the incident, emphasizing that the security of polio workers is a national responsibility and targeting them is "against humanity and the national interest." This case follows a similar attack on a polio team in Balochistan's Noshki in July, where two policemen were killed and four others were injured.
