So-Safe Corps arrests two for burglary, theft of aluminium materials in Ogun

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, commonly known as So-Safe Corps, has apprehended two individuals for burglary and theft of aluminium materials in the Ifo Local Government Area. The suspects, Bolaji Onifade, a 67-year-old land agent, and Amiru Abdulahi, a 27-year-old scavenger, were apprehended in Shonekan Town, Ayodapo Peace Land CDA.

The arrest came after a distress call was made to the Corps, stating that thieves had been apprehended but one had escaped during the initial encounter. Acting on the information, the Divisional Officer of Onireke Division and Operations Officer of So-Safe Corps launched a coordinated operation. The Divisional Officer used the first suspect's mobile phone to lure the second suspect back to the location, leading to his arrest.

Both suspects admitted to taking aluminium window materials from a property during working hours, using the surrounding bush as cover. They claimed to return on October 30 to retrieve the remaining materials for sale. A sack found with the second suspect contained tools used for the operation. The State Commander of So-Safe Corps expressed gratitude to the officers for their quick and informed response, urging residents to maintain clean surroundings to deter criminal activities.

The suspects and the recovered materials have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and prosecution.
