Suspek yang juga penghantar makanan itu pada mulanya enggan mematuhi arahan berhenti sebelum cuba meloloskan diri.
Policemen chased a man suspected of drug possession from Sri Petaling to Cyberjaya on Monday evening. The 41-year-old driver of a Nissan Vanette was initially observed using a mobile phone while driving in Sri Petaling. Refusing to stop, he performed a U-turn and sped up, prompting police to pursue him. The suspect managed to bypass police vehicles at Lebuhraya Maju before being apprehended at APEC Avenue in Cyberjaya.
He had also breached several other vehicles and caused traffic congestion, leading to multiple complaints filed with the police for traffic violations. Social media videos showed the van being chased by police vehicles, including in congested traffic conditions. CCTV footage reportedly captured a gold-colored van crossing a toll plaza.
Testing of the van's drain water revealed the presence of methamphetamine. The suspect also had a prior criminal record for drug offenses, and his van had been stolen for further investigation. The investigation is searching for the registered owner of the vehicle to assist the ongoing inquiry. The police plan to question the suspect again today for further investigation.
