Northern Islamic cleric, Mallam Saleh Muhammad Jimeta, has harshly criticized President Bola Tinubu in a Facebook video. Jimeta, speaking in Hausa, also directed curses towards Tinubu following the president's recent statement comparing himself to Moses and Nigeria to Egypt. The sermon, delivered to his congregation, made waves on Facebook on Sunday.
Jimeta deemed Tinubu's comparison as an insult to Islam and Allah, asserting that anyone who elevates themselves to the stature of Prophet Moses should be cursed. Jimeta emphasized that Tinubu lacks the authority to draw parallels between Nigeria's circumstances and Egypt, nor can he claim the status of Moses, who was a Prophet of Allah.
He concluded by invoking Allah's curse upon Tinubu and urged Nigerians to pray against the President's administration, citing the leader's failure to alleviate the nation's hardships and his subsequent blasphemous remarks. The video has garnered extensive attention on social media, eliciting mixed reactions from Nigerians, with some condemning the cleric's actions and others backing his stance.
