Lenovo LOQ 15: The Only Gaming Laptop Worth Buying Below $1,500
As prices escalate on gaming laptops, there’s really only one affordable option still around: the Lenovo LOQ 15, which offers a better performance and display than its competitors.
When it comes to finding the best gaming laptop under $1,500, there seems to be only one worthy recommendation: the Lenovo LOQ 15. While it may not boast the sleekness or raw power of other gaming laptops, the LOQ 15 stands out in this price range. At one point in early 2026, it was even selling for under $1,000. However, despite its lower price, the LOQ 15 introduced advanced technology compared to its competitors.
One of the key advantages of the LOQ 15 is its display. Many cheap gaming laptops suffer from subpar screens that could negatively impact the gaming experience. The LOQ 15, on the other hand, features a high-quality IPS display that truly sets it apart from the competition.
Another important aspect is that the Lenovo LOQ 15 now offers the RTX 5060 graphics card for just $1,300. Although this price has remained relatively stable over the past few months, the RTX 5060 significantly outperforms the previous RTX 5050. With 100 watts of power at its disposal, the LOQ 15 consistently delivers smooth gameplay, even in demanding titles like Black Myth: Wukong and Monster Hunter Wilds, at over 60 frames per second on medium settings.
Additional upscaling or further settings adjustments can further enhance the frame rates. The RTX 5060 configuration, complete with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, is available on Amazon for $1,300.
In comparison to other gaming laptops in its price bracket, such as the MSI Cyborg A16 and Acer Nitro V 16, the LOQ 15 remains unmatched. Recent tests on the Alienware 15 and Lenovo LOQ Essential 15 have also revealed similar shortcomings. Although waiting for potential price drops around Black Friday is an option, there hasn't been much fluctuation in the LOQ 15's price since early 2026.
Even during Amazon Prime Day, the LOQ 15 did not receive a deeper discount, yet it still remained the top gaming laptop deal available. So, if you're looking for an affordable gaming laptop that delivers exceptional performance and display quality, the Lenovo LOQ 15 is undoubtedly the best choice under $1,500.
