Jagex partnered with a RuneScape-inspired idle game to turn the sequel into an official spinoff
Melvor Idle 2 has gained a subtitle: A RuneScape Adventure.
Jagex has teamed up with Games by Malcs to officially spin off their popular idle game, Melvor Idle 2. The new sequel, while not set in the Gielinor world of RuneScape, takes significant inspiration from the classic MMORPG. Jagex's support aims to boost the game's popularity. Unlike Melvor Idle's original release, Melvor Idle 2 will not feature microtransactions.
The upcoming idle RPG boasts enhanced visuals and a higher level cap of 120. Jagex's partnership with Games by Malcs spans five years, previously marking the first publisher of Melvor Idle, although without any branding changes. Despite RuneScape's history of monetization controversies, Melvor Idle 2 appears to be free from such issues, proudly declaring no microtransactions.
