INDIA bloc rally LIVE: ‘Chalo Dilli’ march today; Rahul Gandhi urges protesters to shop local to support traders
INDIA bloc rally LIVE: The Opposition's ‘Chalo Dilli’ march will begin at noon from the Minto Road-Connaught Place junction. The march will culminate at Ramlila Maidan, where a mega rally is scheduled from 10am to 5pm.
On November 1, 2026, the Opposition's INDIA bloc rally will commence in Delhi against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and alleged electoral irregularities. Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi urged protestors to "protest, march and shop" to support local traders during the festive season of Diwali. Nearly 10,000 security personnel are deployed in central Delhi, with traffic diversions in place.
The march is expected to draw nearly one million participants, although the police have prepared for 50,000 due to the size of the Ramlila Maidan venue. Police have issued an advisory for route diversions and restrictions from 10 am to 5 pm. Opposition parties staged a mock impeachment of CEC Gyanesh Kumar on Saturday, with former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar calling for his resignation. The BJP plans a counter-march in West Delhi to remember the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
