Inde Navarrette Kicks Off ‘Saturday Night Live’ Debut With Shane Gillis Quip About Her “Little Whore Outfit” For Getting Into Marvel Shape
Following her “scream queen” debut in Obsession, Inde Navarrette flexed her comedy muscle with her Saturday Night Live hosting debut. On this weekend’s episode of the sketch comedy show, the actress teased her upcoming MCU role as Rogue in X-Men, noting that she has to get into Marvel shape while making a joke about Shane […]
Actress Inde Navarrette made waves during her debut monologue on "Saturday Night Live" by criticizing previous host Shane Gillis for his controversial remark about women dressing inappropriately at the gym. Navarrette, who recently joined the cast of Marvel's "X-Men" movie, joked about putting on her "whore outfit" and hitting the gym each morning.
This comment came three weeks after Gillis hosted an episode of the show on October 10, 2026. Gillis' joke, during his third hosting stint on "SNL," sparked widespread backlash as many viewed it as sexist. Dan Levy, star of "Schitt's Creek" and a creator of "SNL," condemned the joke on Instagram, arguing that women wearing short shorts at the gym is not the same as being called a "whore" by men.
Levy expressed shock that such content could air on national television and noted that he had observed more men's nipples at the gym than women showing off their bodies.
