Fahmi Fadzil, a government spokesman, criticized Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man for associating the Confidence and Stability Agreement (CSA) with a new political culture, arguing that it undermines the people's mandate. This comes after CSA's inaugural signing in 2021, when former PAS President Tuan Ibrahim himself joined as a minister. The Communications Minister addressed Tuan Ibrahim's statement, questioning whether it was appropriate for the CSA to become a new political tradition when it started with Tuan Ibrahim's own involvement.

Fahmi stated that the agreement does not violate any laws, as it promotes understanding and creates a stable environment prioritizing the people and institutional reform. He questioned why there is a need to undermine it if there is any benefit. Fahmi also mentioned that the government has not prevented any other opposition MPs from signing the CSA.

The door for signatures remains open. Six opposition MPs from Permatang Pauh and Muar Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman joined the government in signing the CSA on Thursday. According to the agreement's terms, the government will announce constitutional amendments related to the prime minister's tenure and separation of the Attorney General's office from the prosecutor general.

All the people represented by the agreement will also receive region-specific benefits upon the approval of the 2027 budget. The 2021 CSA is believed to refer to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on political transformation and stability signed by the Ismail Sabri Yaakob administration and Pakatan Harapan during that time. PAS was part of the government at that time, with Tuan Ibrahim as the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
