Chelsea legend Joe Cole has suggested that Manchester United should consider releasing defender Lisandro Martinez following his recent poor form and disciplinary issues. United's recent loss to Chelsea has left them without a win in nine matches and put them at risk of relegation. Cole praised Martinez's achievements with the Argentine national team, but believes his time at Old Trafford has come to an end.
The defender was sent off during the match for a second bookable offence, further damaging United's cause. Cole criticized Martinez's behavior after the final whistle, stating that the dismissal was an avoidable mistake that hindered United's performance. With Martinez's contract set to expire at the end of the season, and United's poor form continuing, Cole's comments have raised doubts about the defender's future at the club.
