Dreams FC secured their maiden victory of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season by defeating Basake Holy Stars 1-0 at the AAK II Sports Arena on Sunday. Bernard Kokonu scored the winning goal in the 50th minute, capitalizing on Dreams' numerical advantage following Bismark Teye's red card in the 33rd minute. This win broke Holy Stars' unbeaten home run and provided a much-needed morale boost for Winfried Dormon's team, who had struggled at the start of the season.
The hosts played with 10 men for most of the match after Teye's dismissal. Dreams FC currently sits at the bottom of the league table, but hopes to turn their fortunes around when they host newly promoted Debibi United.
