Chiefs vs. Broncos live updates, inactives, where to watch: Rashee Rice returns from hamstring injury as Patrick Mahomes, Kenneth Walker III look to bounce-back in AFC West showdown
The Chiefs suffered their first loss of the season last week.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos are set to clash in the AFC West showdown during Week 8. This marks the second meeting between these teams this season, following their initial encounter on Monday Night Football, where the Chiefs emerged victorious with a 31-10 margin. Kenneth Walker III contributed significantly to the Chiefs' triumph, rushing for an impressive 173 yards.
Currently, the Broncos are positioned at 5-2 in second place within the AFC West. Under the guidance of head coach Sean Payton, the team's offense has been working on finding its rhythm. Since the beginning of the season, the Broncos have secured five out of their last six victories, including an overtime win against the Seahawks in Week 6 – the same team that recently dealt the Chiefs their first loss of the season.
The Chiefs aim to rebound following their narrow 24-21 defeat against the Seahawks, where Patrick Mahomes and Walker III appeared to struggle, scoring the fewest points since Week 18 of the 2024 season when the Chiefs were shut out by the Broncos. With Mahomes on the bench due to resting ahead of the playoffs, this AFC West showdown presents an opportunity for both teams to bounce back and assert their dominance in the division.
