Bengaluru Nandini milk price hiked by ₹8: Will your daily cup of tea or coffee cost more? What hotel association says
After the revision, Nandini toned milk will cost ₹54 per litre. Similarly, Nandini Shubham milk, with 4.5 per cent fat content, will cost ₹60 per litre, below the average price of ₹62.80 in 10 other states, Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said.
The Karnataka government recently increased the price of Nandini milk by ₹8 per litre across all categories, effective from November 1. The revised milk prices saw Nandini toned milk priced at ₹54 per litre and Nandini Shubham milk, with 4.5 per cent fat content, at ₹60 per litre. The Bengaluru Hotels Association expressed concern over the hike, warning of potential price revisions in items like coffee, tea, snacks, and meals that require large quantities of milk.
Despite the criticism, the Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar defended the decision, stating it was necessary to protect farmers' interests amid severe drought conditions.
