Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat launch today

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will inaugurate the Vande Bharat Sleeper train service connecting Bengaluru to Mumbai on November 1, according to a PTI report. The service will be launched at Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal in Bengaluru, where preparations are underway on Platform 1. Railway Minister HD Kumaraswamy, Minister of State for Railways V Somanna, and other officials are expected to attend the inauguration.

The train, numbered 27652, will depart Bengaluru for Mumbai at 12:15 pm as part of the launch event. It will operate six days a week, except for Mondays, and connect SMVT Bengaluru with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai, passing through eight stations along the route. The stoppages will be at Anantapur, Guntakal, Raichur, Yadgir, Kalaburagi, Solapur, Pune, and Kalyan.

The new service will provide an overnight rail connection between Bengaluru and Mumbai, departing SMVT Bengaluru at 7:45 pm and reaching CSMT Mumbai at 11:55 am the following day. With Monday as the weekly non-operating day, passengers will have an overnight rail connection between the two cities.

This service follows the recent introduction of a Vande Bharat Sleeper route between Varanasi and New Delhi, launched the day before on Saturday. The Varanasi-New Delhi train will connect through Prayagraj, Kanpur Central, Aligarh, and Ghaziabad, improving rail connectivity for passengers traveling between major cities and nearby districts.
