Controversy surrounded the Palmeiras versus Vasco match, played on Sunday's first day. Referee Anderson Daronco oversaw the game at Nubank Parque. A major point of debate was a potential penalty that Vasco did not receive. After the match, coach Abel Ferreira was questioned about the referee's decision. Instead of addressing the issue, Ferreira redirected the question to the reporter, pointing out another possible mistake.
He referred to an incident in the second half where Lescano allegedly collided with Lucas Evangelista. Ferreira stated that he had no comment on the Lescano-Evangelista incident, but suggested that the reporter focus on the potential blow to Evangelista's face. He encouraged the media to create content around these incidents, stating that they could generate more interest.
