WATCH: Parcel Explodes During Unloading At Courier Office In Maharashtra's Latur; Employee Seriously Injured

An explosion erupted from a parcel during unloading at a courier office in Latur, Maharashtra, on Saturday morning, leaving a worker with severe burns. The incident unfolded around 9:30 am when a courier employee was unloading boxes from a delivery truck parked in front of a courier office on Udyog Bhavan Road. One of the parcels detonated, producing a deafening blast audible throughout the neighborhood and instilling fear in nearby traders and pedestrians.

The employee handling the parcel was engulfed in flames and smoke, suffering grave burns. Swiftly, bystanders whisked him away to a nearby private clinic for emergency treatment. The blast instilled panic in the bustling commercial area, home to numerous courier companies and retail establishments. With Diwali festivities approaching, courier offices have been swamped with parcel deliveries as individuals send gifts, provisions, and important documents to loved ones in distant locales.

Upon arrival, police from the Shivajinagar Police Station sealed off the scene and launched a thorough investigation. They are currently piecing together details about the parcel's contents, the courier route it followed, and the intended recipient. Forensic specialists are also on standby to assist in identifying the exact cause of the explosion. Presently, investigators are considering potential culprits such as firecracker materials, flammable chemicals, and battery-related components.
