Two individuals have been apprehended in Techiman, Bono Region, in connection with the alleged murder of Agartha Takyiwa, a 22-year-old Fabulous Ladies footballer, according to Fabulous Ladies coach Nana Atuahene. Agartha was fatally stabbed on October 29, 2026, in the Ashanti Region's Atwima Kwanwoma District. She was reportedly a commercial tricycle rider who picked up a female passenger around 10:30pm and was transporting her to Afrancho New Site.
During the journey, a struggle ensued between Agartha and the alleged assailants over her tricycle, resulting in her death. The suspects took the tricycle and Agartha's mobile phone. Their whereabouts were determined through the phone's location tracking. Coach Atuahene informed Luv FM that the club has not formally notified the Ghana Football Association about the incident.
He also expressed concern over the status of women's football in Ghana, stating that the players are registered as amateurs and the club only provides transportation costs.
