The 15 best cities in the US to celebrate Halloween, ranked
New York City leads WalletHub's Halloween rankings, scoring high in fun and friendliness, which is ideal for festive celebrations.
Halloween is this weekend, and according to a new ranking by WalletHub, New York City tops the list as the best city in the US to celebrate the holiday. The ranking was based on 20 key metrics, including Halloween costume stores per capita, walkability, haunted houses per capita, population density, and average Halloween weather.
The top 15 cities are a mix of factors that make each one unique in its own way. Saint Paul, Minnesota, ranked sixth for Trick-or-Treater Friendliness, while San Diego, California, placed in the top 10 for Halloween Fun, indicating there's plenty to do to celebrate the holiday. Orlando, Florida, was ranked second for Halloween Fun due to its theme parks, Universal Studios and Disney World, but its lack of trick-or-treater friendliness brought it down a spot.
Washington, DC, despite having the fewest costume stores per capita, scored high in Halloween Weather, placing eighth overall.
