In Manchester, Fallon Sherrock stunned reigning world champion Luke Littler and won £501,000 at Netflix’s live darts event, Beat Luke Littler. The 32-year-old became the first challenger to defeat the world number one in the contest, ending Littler's winning streak after 14 previous opponents had failed to beat him in the one-leg 501 format.
Sherrock secured the victory by winning the bull-off, producing a 15-dart leg with a maximum 180 score, and finishing on double 20. She emerged victorious from 43, leaving Littler needing 142 points to win. The win, which took place in front of a packed crowd at Manchester Central, marked the biggest prize of Sherrock's career. Known as the 'Queen of the Palace', Sherrock rose to prominence in 2020 when she became the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Darts Championship.
Despite some criticism from darts fans over her inclusion in the event due to her experience, Netflix’s eligibility rules allowed players without a Professional Darts Corporation Tour card to compete. Littler congratulated Sherrock on her win, describing her performance as "world class" and expressed his excitement for future collaborations with Netflix.
