Selangor's Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari, announced the state's willingness to host regional or international sporting championships in Shah Alam on October 31. Known for its world-class sports facilities and having previously hosted the SEA Games, Selangor is showcasing its capability to support other countries' sporting events.
The Menteri Besar emphasized using these well-maintained venues to boost athletes' performance and prepare them for upcoming competitions. Currently, the state government has invested around RM100 million in upgrading existing facilities, collaborating with local authorities and the private sector. The successful hosting of the Sukma and Para Sukma Games was attributed to the effective use of existing resources and the active involvement of various stakeholders, despite facing challenges such as a tight schedule and haze concerns.
The Selangor government also expressed gratitude to sponsors and private partners for their contributions to the Games' success.
