Manchester United is considering a potential transfer for Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez, according to reports. The 23-year-old Spain international is "rated in the £70million bracket" and has attracted interest from several top clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea. United has shown interest in Lopez, who offers attacking midfield energy, goal threat, and versatility.
The timing of the transfer speculation is significant, as United is looking to add goalscoring options in the next transfer window after Benjamin Sesko's injury setback. The 23-year-old Slovenian striker could be out until at least January with a shin injury, leaving manager Michael Carrick short in a crucial area. United has also been linked with Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but a move for the England international is viewed as difficult due to the strong rivalry between the two clubs.
The focus of United's January transfer plans is on attacking reinforcements, with Lopez being a key name in the conversation.
