Police arrest 11 over attack on Sowore in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police have apprehended 11 individuals in connection with the assault on African Action Congress presidential hopeful Omoyele Sowore and others at a restaurant in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital. The Rapid Response Squad made the arrests following a tip-off and uncovered items including walkie-talkies, suspected drugs, tools for drug preparation, currency, electronic devices, and identification documents.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the roles of the suspects and their potential ties to the attack. The police assured the public that those found guilty will face justice, while Sowore contends that it was a coordinated attack by armed men, not an altercation.
