The Pokémon Company has announced a new collaboration with Fender for the franchise's 30th anniversary. The partnership features two special-edition guitars: the Red Version Stratocaster and the Green Version Telecaster. Both guitars incorporate pixel art from the original Game Boy games, with Charmander and Bulbasaur prominently featured, respectively.
The guitars also include an 8-BitSound System, which adds an 8-bit effect to the sound produced when activated by the volume knob. However, the sound quality is more distorted due to bit depth reduction. These special edition Fender guitars are set to release in 2027. Made in Japan, their exclusivity to the Japanese market leads to a raffle system.
Applicants must apply via the Pokemon Center Online in Japan between November 19th and 24th, with final details and lottery results announced subsequently.
