Pakistan Railways Launches Upgraded 20-Coach Karakoram Express

Pakistan Railways has unveiled an upgraded 20-coach Karakoram Express, offering enhanced travel amenities between Lahore and Karachi. The train, inaugurated at Lahore Railway Station by Pakistan Railways CEO Muhammad Hafeezullah, operates under a private-sector agreement to elevate passenger services. Featuring four classes—AC Sleeper, AC Business, AC Standard, and Economy—the Karakoram Express departs daily from Lahore and Karachi at 3 PM.

Covering a 19-hour journey, the train halts at Raiwind, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Rohri, Nawabshah, Hyderabad, Landhi, and Drigh Road. Pakistan Railways transferred commercial management to the private sector to enhance service standards and passenger comfort. Passengers can expect mineral water, freshly prepared meals, bedding, mobile charging points, Wi-Fi, an infotainment system, and special complimentary services for AC Sleeper and AC Business class travelers.
