Orlando Pirates captain responds to Ouaddou’s criticism of attacking players

Miracle Ebubechi Michael, known as Mimi or Anoda Mirakle among her supporters, has made a daring promise that has taken social media by storm. The Orlando Pirates fan has vowed to walk all the way to Nigeria if her team loses to Kaizer Chiefs in the upcoming Soweto derby. Her declaration has ignited the passion of local soccer enthusiasts, further fueling the intense rivalry that forms the heart of South African football.

To fund her journey, Mimi launched a crowdfunding campaign that raised over R40,000, funding her trip from Nigeria to Johannesburg. The Soweto derby, set to take place this Saturday, has become a focal point of excitement due to the massive popularity of both teams. Both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs demonstrated their prowess in the week leading up to the match, with Kaizer Chiefs winning 3-0 against TS Galaxy and Orlando Pirates securing a 2-0 victory over Milford.

The fervor surrounding this year's derby is further amplified by the fact that tickets for the event at FNB Stadium were snapped up in just six hours, indicating the immense passion of the fans. Stadium Management South Africa anticipates over 90,000 supporters will attend the match, and authorities have urged those without tickets to refrain from entering the venue, implementing stringent measures to curb the use of counterfeit tickets.

As the match approaches, security teams have been deployed in high numbers to ensure the smooth running of the event. Despite the rivalry, Mimi maintains a positive outlook, expressing her gratitude for the overwhelming support she has received from South Africans on social media. She acknowledged the kindness shown to her in Nigeria, which has left her overwhelmed, stating, "I have been spoiled rotten by South Africans, but I cannot keep up with the fork and knife."
