Happy Pikmin Day Eve

Nintendo is observing the inaugural Pikmin Day by introducing a lineup of brief films. The company announced on Friday that November 1st would mark the inaugural celebration of Pikmin Day. During the Pikmin Day Direct, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed fresh details about Pikmin 4 for the Switch 2 system, shared an update for the mobile game Pikmin Bloom, and unveiled the Hello!

Pikmin collection of short films. Players will be able to utilize the Switch 2's built-in microphone to provide voice commands to Oatchi, the extraterrestrial canine companion. Pikmin 4 will also incorporate a Dandori Academy mode, which will evaluate players' skills in specific challenges. There will be limited tests on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, complete with leaderboards that allow players to compare their statistics.

Pikmin Bloom will introduce a new feature called Secret Caves, in which players can acquire treasure by vanquishing adversaries and exploring these hidden caves. Miyamoto showcased the initial installment of a new sequence of shorts titled Hello! Pikmin. The second episode is set to premiere tomorrow, with a third installment following later in November.

The series will subsequently release one short each month, beginning in December. The shorts are inspired by the success of Close to You, a Pikmin animation released last year.
