Barcelona will field an updated lineup in their upcoming La Liga match against Deportivo Alaves at the Spotify Camp Nou. Following their 1-2 loss to Real Madrid in El Clasico, manager Hansi Flick has revealed the starting XI to face the Basque club. Academy graduate Brian Farinas, 20, makes his debut for the first team, starting at right-back in place of injured teammates Xavi Espart, Eric Garcia, and Jules Kounde.
Frenkie de Jong, who made his maiden appearance last week against Real Madrid, also gets his first start of the season. The Netherlands international will play as a centre-back, with Gerard Martin being rested. Pau Cubarsi remains at the core of the defense, while Joao Cancelo continues on the left side. Alejandro Balde, however, must settle for a place on the bench once again.
In midfield, Barcelona will employ the trident of Pedri, Rodri, and Fermin Lopez. The likes of Gavi and Marc Bernal are options to come on as substitutes. For attack, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha retain their places, joined by Karim Adeyemi, who replaces Anthony Gordon on the left side.
