Avenger Air Defense Missiles Deployed Near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Resort
The US Secret Service has deployed two Avenger surface-to-air missile systems on a floating barge near US President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida following warnings of an elevated, dynamic threat environment. The Humvee-mounted Stinger missile systems provide specialized low-altitude defense against drones, cruise missiles, and low-flying aircraft.
Two Avenger surface-to-air missile systems have been deployed on a floating barge near Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, following warnings from the US Secret Service about an "elevated threat" environment. Photographs show the missile platforms positioned on armored Humvees, ready to intercept low-altitude aerial threats.
This deployment marks a significant increase in domestic protective security protocols, according to a Secret Service spokesperson. The US Secret Service, charged with safeguarding high-level US officials, reported a 40 percent surge in threats against its protectees compared to the previous year. Federal authorities are also petitioning for permanent flight restrictions over the Palm Beach estate, citing intelligence on potential terrorist threats and aerial intrusion vectors.
The heightened security measures are believed to be influenced by the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran, as well as past assassination attempts on Trump.
