ASUU-FG Agreement: KASU applauds Uba Sani on implementation

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) branch at Kaduna State University (KASU) has lauded Governor Uba Sani for fully implementing the 2025 Federal Government-ASUU Agreement. In a press conference, ASUU representatives Comrade Abubakar Abdullahi and Comrade Silas Amos Bakut, the union's Chairman and Secretary respectively, highlighted the positive impact of the agreement on the welfare of academic staff.

The implementation is seen as a significant milestone in the university's development, enhancing morale, productivity, and industrial relations. The union also recalled other welfare initiatives by Governor Sani, including the resolution of the 60% withheld salary issue from 2017, payment of outstanding SIWES allowances, and settlement of five months of withheld salaries from May to September 2022.

Furthermore, the Governing Council and Management of KASU have been working collaboratively with ASUU to resolve outstanding death benefits and promotion arrears. In addition, KASU-ASUU Multipurpose Cooperative Society has been allocated 10.2 hectares of land, with a subsidy of 4,000,000.00 for each beneficiary, making homeownership more accessible.

ASUU expressed appreciation for the union's leadership and commitment to constructive engagement with the State Government, KASU Management, and other stakeholders in resolving outstanding welfare issues and strengthening industrial harmony.
